There's an interesting discussion at Forumosa comparing Popup Chinese to ChinesePod and asking for feedback from people with experiences with both:

We obviously believe there's a significant difference in pedagogical approach and I'd actually like to reply at some point. I disagree with the one poster that our intermediate stuff is less difficult (I consider it much more challenging, although less focused on arbitrary vocabulary). That said, if anyone has any thoughts and wants to drop by and join the discussion, I'm sure it would be appreciated by the community, and we'll certainly find it useful to read as well.

Oh yes, and Happy New Year. :)

One has to be a hardcore popup chinese fan to go through all the steps for creating an account on forumosa.com. But then, who isn't?

Yeah. We've had complaints by people over email too.

Seems pretty perverse to run a forum and then not let people register to comment. Fair enough, but I guess it sort of defeats the point of linking to a forum. Hopefully people will try us out and see for themselves at any rate.
